Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty

Warranty Eligibility by VIN Prefix

Coverage under this Limited Warranty depends on the trailer’s VIN prefix — the first three characters of the 17-character VIN, printed on the VIN sticker affixed to the trailer — and, for trailers Walton Transportation built, on when the trailer was manufactured. The prefix identifies which entity manufactured the trailer. Walton Transportation, LLC took over operations in September 2023; every trailer it has built since carries the 7X1 prefix.

• VIN prefix 7X1, manufactured in December 2024 or later. These trailers carry the Lifetime Limited Structural Warranty described below. This applies regardless of when the trailer was purchased, including a trailer that sat on a dealer’s lot before it was sold.
• VIN prefix 7X1, manufactured between September 2023 and November 2024. These trailers carry a 3-year limited structural warranty rather than the lifetime warranty. The 3-year term begins on the earlier of two dates: the date of original retail purchase, or six months after Walton sold the trailer to the dealer.
  
  The second of those can start the term before you took delivery. A trailer that sat on a dealer’s lot for two years after Walton sold it to that dealer is already 18 months into its 3-year term on the day it is bought — the term began six months after the dealer received it, not on the day of purchase, leaving 18 months of coverage. If you are buying a trailer manufactured in this window, ask the dealer when Walton sold it to them.
  
  All other terms, exclusions and limitations in this Limited Warranty apply.
• VIN prefix 1W9 or 7SR. These trailers were manufactured under a different entity and are not covered by any Walton Transportation warranty. They carry no structural warranty and no other coverage under this Limited Warranty, regardless of the date of purchase, unless a written agreement signed by Walton Transportation, LLC and the end customer expressly provides otherwise. Where such an agreement exists, its terms control.
  
  Component warranties are a separate matter and may still be in force. Tires, axles, brake components, springs and suspension components, couplers, jacks, and batteries are warranted by their respective manufacturers, and nothing above affects those warranties. An owner of a 1W9 or 7SR trailer with a component failure should submit the claim directly to that component’s manufacturer, following the claim process that vendor has established. Walton Transportation does not administer, submit, or adjudicate those claims.

Lifetime Limited Structural Warranty

Subject to the requirements, exclusions and limitations stated below, the structure of your Walton trailer is warranted to the original retail purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship by Walton Trailers, arising from normal use for the lifetime of the trailer. The structure is that portion of the trailer which includes the main frame, consisting of the bottom rails, cross members, and the sub frame, excluding the floorboards (where applicable) and running gear.

Exclusions

Walton warrants its paint finish to be consistent with industry standards for 90 days from the date of original retail purchase, with the exceptions of “normal use” limitations set forth below and of deterioration due to use or exposure, such as chipping, scratching, fading, cracks in caulk seams, road salt or tar, damage by animals or pressure washing. Warrantable paint repairs are limited to spot repairs and blending consistent with standards in the trailer industry.

Lumber is warranted for 90 days from the date of original retail purchase.

Any trailer utilized as a rental unit or as part of a rental combination with rental equipment is warranted for 90 days from the date of original retail purchase.

Exclusion of Components Warranted by Other Manufacturers

Tires, axles, brake components, springs and suspension components, couplers, jacks, and batteries purchased and installed by Walton are warranted by their respective manufacturers.

Normal Use, No Repairs or Alterations

This Limited Warranty covers only defects in original components which arise from normal use and does not apply if the trailer has been subjected to negligence, accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, overload or has been repaired or altered without the prior written consent of Walton Trailers. Normal wear items, including but not limited to struts, lights, bearings, brakes, brake linings, tires and batteries will not be replaced due to wear.

Transportation Costs Excluded

Transportation of any trailer to and/or from your dealer or any Walton approved repair facility shall be the responsibility of the trailer owner. Walton shall not be liable for any such costs.

Prior Written Consent Required and Return of Defective Parts Required

No reimbursement will be made to any dealer or owner for repairs made without the prior written consent of Walton. Any defective part(s) must be sent by prepaid freight to Walton in order to qualify for replacement or reimbursement under this Limited Warranty.

Limitations

The sole responsibility of Walton Trailers under this limited warranty shall be to repair and replace parts at the Walton Trailers production facility, or at a Walton authorized dealer, or another location (with prior written approval by Walton Trailers). All other obligations or liabilities, including incidental or consequential damages or contingent liabilities arising out of the failure of any parts to operate properly are hereby excluded, including but not limited to any damages resulting from loss of use, inconvenience, loss of time, commercial loss, or any other type of damages general or specific, foreseen or unforeseen, unless applicable state law provides otherwise.

Warranty Void

Walton Trailers is not responsible for damage caused by accident, negligence, abuse, misapplication, or misuse of a trailer or any of its component parts. Loading in excess of gross vehicle load rating stated on the certificate plate will invalidate any and all warranties. Any modifications, alterations, or repair to any product manufactured by Walton Trailers without Walton Trailers prior knowledge and written consent will void the manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty is also void if the end user significantly modifies the structure or function of the trailer.

Disclaimers

This warranty is expressly given in lieu of all other warranties and representations. Walton Trailers makes no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, with respect to Walton Trailers whether as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or any other matter. No one, including an authorized Walton Trailers dealer is authorized to make further or additional warranties on behalf of Walton Trailers.

Required Warranty Claim Procedure

Within ten (10) days after discovering a problem with your Walton Trailers trailer, return your trailer for inspection to your Walton Trailers dealer where you bought your trailer.

If your dealer cannot repair the problem free of charge and you want to file a claim under this warranty, you or your dealer must complete the online Warranty Claim Submission form within ten (10) days of the discovery of your defect.

Walton Trailers will acknowledge such receipt of a claim by registered letter, email, or to the dealer and the claimant. Walton Trailers will respond as soon as possible, being no later than thirty (30) days after receipt of the claim.

Walton Trailers, at their discretion, may require that the defective parts be sent by prepaid freight to Walton Trailers, in order to qualify the claimant for replacement or reimbursement under this limited warranty. Any defective parts (that are requested to be shipped back) must be returned to Walton Trailers within thirty (30) days of the date of approval to qualify for reimbursement.

Walton Trailers reserves the right to not pay unreasonable cost for replacement or repair of defects to a Walton Trailers trailer, and may at its discretion, establish reasonable reimbursement or parts for any authorized work performed under the terms of this Limited Warranty.

When required, photos of defective part(s), or the actual part(s), may have to accompany the warranty approval before payment can or will be made.
